Overnight Offshore Spearfishing (Tuna/Yellowtail/Bonito)

Overnight Offshore Spearfishing (Tuna/Yellowtail/Bonito)

Captain Ryan here with the weekend Wrap-up. The Huntress left Friday night for an offshore mixed Spearfishing & Rod n Reel trip. Bluefin and Yellowtail were the main targets. It didn’t take too long to find limits of Yellowtail for everyone onboard once the sun came up. Most on rods, 1 speared. That left us fully focused on the tuna. unfortunately the winds came up more than expected making for a tough game. A few schools were spotted but didn’t provide much of an opportunity to connect. On the plus side… they have moved up the line quickly and are within range. The next new moon & full moon will be game on, weather permitting… so if you’ve got the Bluefin fever, Lets get ya on the roster. It’s go time!
Lastly, as we were just about to start cleaning fish for the ride home we found some birds and crashing fish that gave up one of those nice big Bonito everyone’s been chattering about. All in all, good times
